Fireworks
Our journey to see the fireworks competition in Montreal involved many hardships: voyages by car, train and the last 183 miles on foot. We had to kill snakes, cut trees and bribe our way out of two different prisons.
Ok, actually we had to cut short our Peruvian-Canadian fusion tasting menu, and we did have quite a long walk to the park. We took our seat just as the first rocket lit up the sky.
The fireworks, put on by Italy, were spectacular, and totally worth the epic sacrifices we made to get there.
Somehow, the sparks hung in the air much longer than regular fireworks, and I saw colors I don’t remember seeing in fireworks before: kind of an apple green in particular.
