That is NOT a giant model of a Wint-O-Green Lifesaver. That is a CT scanner, which was used to confirm that Lee’s bellyache was more than just bellyaching. One emergency operation later, her worse-than-useless appendix has been consigned to some biohazard compost heap (hopefully located near Trump campaign headquarters).

As we answered the routine history questions at the (hospital owned) doctor’s office, again at the ED, again for the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, and at least two nurses, all of them armed with an electronic medical record system, I’ll admit I questioned the value of the work I’ve done over the years…

Time heals all post-op wounds, they say, but hopefully a short time in this case.
