A tiny fraction of the queue outside the Anne Frank House

“Mixed Snack” at the Art Nouveau showpiece Bar Américain off the Leidseplein. What’s funny is that even after all this, we walked by a place advertising all you can eat spare ribs and thought it sounded good.

Our house
AirBNB does it again. Our basement apartment is cozy and charming.

After a lovely lunch in the museum café, we did go back and try to push our way through to see the Rembrandt up close. It was marvelous, but somehow I was drawn to take a picture of the security guard, who seemed to know that he was going to be in 1,000 photos before the day was out.

Another Mona Lisa moment
Only it’s Vermeer and the Dutch are the tallest people in the world.

At least it’s big enough to see
At the Rijksmuseum, the highlight attraction is Rembrandt’s the Night Watch. Just like the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, you can only see it from about 30 feet away unless you’re willing to push through all the other people.
