And now for something really interesting…

Fresh from the heady triumph of my cinematic debut “Open Elevator Car” I give you now “Rushing Waters.”

You see, it’s more water than usual, and it was making this big rushing noise…

Ok, I get it… stick to still photos.

New to video

My meeting in Copenhagen took place in a wonderful old building with these cool open elevators running on a giant chain. You just step in when it comes by. If you want, you can go all the way to the top and come around the other side. Amazing! Unique! A little scary… If you got stuck somehow you would lose a leg.

But how to capture this on film? I never shoot video.

I thought about Tarantino and Eastwood and Spielberg. Of course I also thought about Bergman and Godard and Buñuel.

In the end, I had to settle for a few seconds of cool open elevators going up and down.

I’m staying in a bed-and-breakfast this week. The decor is predictable, flowered wallpaper, bigger flowers on the drapes, 18th-century engravings on the wall. Packing up this morning, I happened to actually notice for the first time the giant beer stein on the dresser. It’s the Joker!

Signs of the times…..

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, a giant LED-bedecked pincushion, is most interesting to me cause it’s across the freeway from Starbucks. It also rents out its facilities to a variety of groups… Yesterday was Excavator Safety Breakfast, which (to quote Dave Barry) would make a wonderful name for a rock band.

Insulation

The middle section of the house we insulated with sprayed foam insulation. Both ends have fiberglass… can you tell?

Last night we went to the New England Youth Theater to see Sandglass Theater’s puppet show called D-generation. When the show was first produced last year, we were afraid it was too depressing. In many ways it was. However, very moving, and there were plenty of funny bits.
