Chiles from our garden, delicioso! And with the recent availability of hominy at the Price Chopper, we’re practically back in Albuquerque!

Another quirky vehicle. This time, it was a whole collection of frogs and stuff, on the dash, on the console, more or less everywhere.

Last night we were driving home from dinner with our friend Arlene who is passing through on her way up north when we saw this the Vermont Joy Parade bus parked outside of the laundromat that closed last year and it seemed it might be a Thing Worth Photographing.

Based on their website, and especially this good piece of writing about their life on the road, it probably was.

I’m not sure how truly sad I am to have missed their show. Although I think I would really like the music, maybe all the rest of the production would have been a little much. Still, I hope they had a big crowd last night and that they find a way to keep on keeping on.

Après moi, le déluge

So, following the gullywasher, we were pleased to see first an orange cone that sprouted up overnight like a mushroom. Then came a dump truck and an excavator. They poured a whole truckload of gravel into the void. Now we’ll have a nice big ice dam come winter.

It would be funnier except it’s my tax dollars (not) at work.

Guardrail update

So, a week later, and our new public works project teaches me a new vocabulary word: gullywasher. Sheesh.

For an unknown but probably beneficial reason, the town installed new guardrail in the no-man’s land next to us.

Not sure where they will push all the snow this winter though!

Hauling scaffolding into the Latchis for the restoration of the main theater ceiling.

Very happy to see pre-construction activity at the Brooks House!!

To recover from the morning’s exertions, we went to the new Wolverine movie… Pretty good if you like that sort of thing, which I do.

It will be our last time in the old Latchis seats, because next week the long overdue renovation begins.
