Pigeon houses, which I think I would call a dovecote, are a common feature of the landscape here… back in the day, people in the country would eat the pigeons and relied heavily on the manure for fertilizer.

This one seems surprised to have been found by us… As indeed many of the other people and places we’ve seen have been. It’s still pre-tourist-season, Monsieur, and so the museum will only be open on Tuesdays, but not this Tuesday, naturellement.

Thank God for convivial companions.

And your little dog too

We were drawn to this dramatic sculpture in Castelsarrasin, and just as I was lining up the shot a lady comes along (completely hidden here) so little Milou can do his business. As often, the shot is much better for that surprise.

From the Abbaye St. Pierre in Moissac

Back in the 12th century, They understood the phrase “put the fear of God in you.”

This fountain in Moissac, which you have to stare at for a sec, is entitled something like When the Pure Waters Met the Spirit of the Grape.

What a night that must have been….

If it rains tomorrow so we can’t enjoy the outdoor market, what about bringing home a little of that famous French style?
