Singapore Super Trees
These very cool structures are quite new but have already become an important part of the Singapore skyline. The biggest one is well over a hundred feet tall, and the catwalk you can to go on is about 70’. The exteriors of the trunks are covered by the most amazing plant wall I’ve ever seen, complete with a built-in irrigation system and flowers and so on.
They are also being used to serve an educational purpose, collecting both solar energy and rainwater as part of a larger plan to make Singapore less unsustainable.
These pictures seem washed out, because the sky is a bright gray haze today… Wildfires somewhere north of here have blanketed the city in smoky air for weeks now.
