Singapore City Gallery
It’s fitting that the Urban Redevelopment Authority, responsible for Singapore’s zoning and planning, would have its public exhibit about city planning be one the highest rated Singapore attractions. After all, while the country’s 50-year history has produced/ acquired plenty of art and architecture and so on, it’s really the city itself that’s on display for tourists. At the time of independence, many people lived pretty rough, but today Singapore is wealthy beyond the dreams of most countries, with the highest home ownership rate in the world.
There were several great scale models, including this big one…. It made me really want a drone copter to do aerial flybys. The buildings that are just natural wood color are planned but not built.
