One of the vendors held a reception the other evening at Chicago’s famous Shedd Aquarium. Here are pictures of a beluga, who was much more beautiful in person, an Asian carp whose looming visage is about in keeping with its “marauding invader” role in the local river and lake ecosystems, and finally some of the trout that are threatened by the Asian carp and a lot of other water quality and habitat problems. Afterward, we retired to a fabulous Tiki bar called Three Dots and a Dash for cocktails like this banana daiquiri.
