Candes St. Martin
We cycled to Candes St. Martin this afternoon, enjoying the Loire à Vélo bike trail.
This little village has the reputation as being one of the most charming in the whole of France. However, it didn’t seem all that much more charming than lots of other little villages I’ve seen. They did have a post office the size of a lemonade stand… That was pretty cute.
The church there is the tomb of St. Martin, who died in the year 397. I kind of thought that the cathedral in Tours was the tomb of the same St. Martin, so now I’m not sure who I saw buried there.
