The streets of San Francisco, er, Melbourne

Gotta love a job that lets me get paid to go to interesting places. I’m spending 10 days in Melbourne providing training and planning services to a new client, my first trip to Oz. And, Lee was able to come with, thanks to a job w a great time off policy and colleagues who generously cover for her.

We both felt surprisingly un-awful after the 28+ hour trip. My colleague not so lucky, has been dreadfully sick since we arrived.

Melbourne seems like it is basically Oakland without having ever known poverty. There are still some 19th century buildings, and they are fine to look at. However, it looks like most of the city has been rebuilt over the years, perhaps more than once. Lots of parks. Trams are everywhere. Lots of pedestrian streets.
