Strolling of the Heifers parade 2013

The weather held, and the parade went off without a hitch. It was wonderful to see such a big crowd watching, and it seemed like there were almost as many people participating in the parade.

In addition to the heifers and their escorts, we had an eclectic assortment of units from local businesses and clubs… Here’s some highlights I noticed:
** a token alpaca farm (holding a sign that said “We only spit if you call us llamas”)
** several farms touting the benefits of their free range and cage free produce, but Miss Vermont had to ride in a haywagon that looked an awful lot like a cage to me
** the poop patrol guys dressed up as flies
** and most amazing, the thing started on time and kept moving steadily all the way until the end.
