Pigeon houses, which I think I would call a dovecote, are a common feature of the landscape here… back in the day, people in the country would eat the pigeons and relied heavily on the manure for fertilizer.

This one seems surprised to have been found by us… As indeed many of the other people and places we’ve seen have been. It’s still pre-tourist-season, Monsieur, and so the museum will only be open on Tuesdays, but not this Tuesday, naturellement.
