Construction Update
We got some more work done last week, made a few more decisions / purchases…
The new kitchen windows went in. It was amazing to see how open everything looked with the giant hole in the wall… but we’ll settle for being warm and dry, even if the windowframes slightly obstruct the view.
We also demo’d the former men’s room. The picture here, taken with the flash on, shows just how dusty the worksite is. We’re now demo’d as far as we plan to go in Phase 1. The new walls are all framed in, most of the electricity is run, most of the plumbing is done. Once those things are complete, hopefully this week, we’ll be able to insulate the walls and ceiling and begin to put on drywall and interior finishes.
We also decided on flooring this weekend. We picked a cork floating floor for the kitchen and bedroom, and tile for the raised baths / laundry area. The special accent tiles will be unveiled later, no doubt to great fanfare and profiles in design magazines.
